Nine companies from Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province recently made the 2021 list of top 100 Chinese garment companies in terms of revenue, according to the China National Garment Association.

Three of these Ningbo companies were ranked among the top five. Specifically, Youngor Group Co Ltd topped the ranking, while Shanshan Holding Co Ltd and Peacebird Group Co Ltd were ranked fourth and fifth respectively.

Of the top 100 companies, 69 saw their revenue surpass 1 billion yuan ($153.85 million), eight more than 2020, and 14 saw their revenue exceed 10 billion yuan.

Nine companies from Ningbo were also listed among the top 100 list in terms of profits. Youngor again crowned the ranking, while Shanshan and Peacebird were ranked fourth and ninth respectively.

Of the top 100 profitable companies on the list, 44 saw their profits top 100 million yuan, an increase of three when compared with the previous year, and 13 had profits in excess of 1 billion yuan.

In terms of operating profit margins, Romon Group Co Ltd was ranked 37th, the highest ranked company from Ningbo, followed by Shanshan (66th) and Seduno Group Co Ltd (68th).

Presently, Ningbo is home to more than 800 garment companies above designated size. The city's clothing and textile industry saw their added value increase by 9.7 percent to 25.67 billion yuan in 2021.
