A group of international students recently returned to Ningbo, Zhejiang province, and resumed their study at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC).

In June, the university sent an application to Ningbo Education Bureau to request the return of a group of international students in order to resume their studies on campus. The application was approved in July.

The 388 students are from more than 40 countries, and 273 are from Indonesia.

To enable them to return to China smoothly, the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Indonesia was involved in the process. Ambassador Lu Kang was responsible for issuing visas directly to the first group of Indonesian students that returned to UNNC. The embassy also assisted them in receiving discounted flight tickets and registering for health codes.

With the embassy's support, 94 Indonesian students arrived at UNNC in September.

Griselda Rachael, an Indonesian student, recently wrote a letter of thanks to the embassy. Ambassador Lu Kang replied to the letter, encouraging them to promote communication between the two countries.

UNNC also offered help to students along the way.

For those who returned to the campus for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, the university covered all the quarantine fees. In addition, the hotel on campus was made available to students who were required to observe the quarantine and health monitoring periods.

According to the university, a significant number of international students have already been able to arrive in China, and more are scheduled to return over the coming months.

UNNC, the first Sino-foreign university in China, is home to a thriving community of international students from a span of countries and regions around the globe.
