Residents of Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province will be able to tour local scenic spots and cultural sites at half price or free of charge on Nov 12.

The day has been designated as a tourism day for local residents and is an integral part of the city's annual tourism festival.

In addition to local identity card holders, those with local residence permits or temporary residence permits issued by Ningbo public security organs are eligible to receive the discounts.

Fifty-nine scenic spots as well as museums, parks, resorts, hotels and homestays will have preferential policies on this day.

Local residents will also get to enjoy discounts for activities such as canoeing, sailing, go-karting and night boat tours.

Visitors are required to make reservations via the official WeChat accounts of the scenic spots at least one day in advance.
