The eighth China Robotop and Intelligent Economic Talents Summit will be held in Yuyao, a county-level city in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province, from Nov 16 to 18, the organizers announced at a news conference on Nov 9.

A 2,500-square-meter expo featuring the state-of-the-art products, technologies and solutions of  89 companies from over 30 industries will be held during the summit.

Luminaries including Pan Yunhe, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Xiong Youlun, an academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, as well as Turing Award Laureate Joseph Sifakis will take part in the summit's online and offline events, offering their insights into robotics, smart manufacturing, AI, and other fields.

The summit is now one of the largest and most influential events in the robotics field in China, on par with the World Robot Conference that is held in Beijing.

Yuyao has had a complete robotic industrial chain since 2016 when the county-level city was designated as the permanent venue for the summit.

Industrial robots, which have been applied in 52 major industries in China, have bolstered the nation’s industrial digital upgrading and smart manufacturing.
