Having worked in Xueshang'ao village in Ningbo, Zhejiang province for more than six years, doctor Wei Yulin has become the village's go-to health professional.

Xueshang'ao is located on a mountain in Ninghai county and most of its residents are elderly. Wei became the village's medical doctor in 2016. Since then, she has visited nearly the entire community and built 260 dossiers, making her familiar with every patient under her care.

In response to the recent spread of COVID-19, Wei has made a list of priority groups. Every day after she finishes her work at the clinic, she visits her patients' homes one-by-one.

"In the village, 117 people have high blood pressure, 54 are diabetics, and 26 are bedridden. They are priority patients and I visit them every day to examine their condition," said Wei, who is always too busy to eat lunch.

Wei also keeps her phone on throughout the night to ensure that villagers can contact her in emergencies. For locals, Dr. Wei is very dependable.

"When I feel sick, I always go to Dr. Wei first instead of my children" said Hu Fu'nyu, an 84-year-old resident.
