Ningbo's landmarks, including Ningbo Museum and Laiwaitan, or the Old Bund, were featured in a hit TV series, which premiered recently.

The Three-Body Problem, a TV series made based on the renowned modern Chinese science fiction novel written by Liu Cixin, was released on Jan 15 after seven years of production.

The book, which has the same title as the TV drama, is the first in the author's Hugo award-winning trilogy about humanity's first contact with an extraterrestrial civilization.

Directed by Yang Lei and starring actors like Zhang Luyi, Yu Hewei, Chen Jin and Wang Ziwen, the much-anticipated TV drama became an instant hit.

Its popularity level on Tencent Video reached 25,000 just one hour after it was launched, making it the fastest TV series to reach 20,000 on the platform, stated the drama's official account on Sino Weibo.
