Ningbo adds 1 provincial tech innovation center

East China's Zhejiang province recently unveiled the second group of four provincial technology innovation centers, one of which will be built in its coastal city of Ningbo, bringing the total number of such provincial facilities in the city to three.

Situated in the Ningbo High-tech Development Zone, the Zhejiang Provincial Green Petrochemical Technology Innovation Center is focused on creating innovations related to energy saving, air pollution control, solid waste treatment and clean production.

The other two provincial innovation centers that are currently under construction in Ningbo are focused on smart factory operating systems and intelligent cars and parts.

Zhejiang has rolled out a plan to build 10 such innovation centers as part of efforts to transform itself into an innovation-driven province.

The first group of six innovation centers has attracted many high-level scientific research talents who have achieved a number of major technological breakthroughs.
