China Plastics Expo opens in Yuyao

After a two-year pause, the 23rd China Plastics Expo kicked off in Yuyao city, Ningbo, Zhejiang province on March 28.

Yuyao authorities launched the China Plastics Expo in 1999 to offer a trading and communication platform for plastics companies and develop Yuyao into an advanced industrial city. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been on pause for the past two years.

"The expo has witnessed the development of Yuyao's plastics industry," said Fu Guirong, Party secretary of Yuyao, when addressing the opening ceremony, "Since its establishment, it has attracted 10,648 exhibitors and 2.45 million buyers from around the world."

This year's expo, which is slated to run until March 31, includes eight exhibition halls. A total of 374 plastics companies are showcasing their latest plastic materials, machines and technologies under the themes of "green" and "smart".

Other activities, including forums, lectures, promotional meetings and job fairs, will be also held during the event.

According to local authorities, the 24th China Plastics Expo is scheduled to be held from Nov 6 to 11.
