Deals worth 3.78 billion yuan ($548.85 million) were reached at the 23rd China Plastics Expo, which concluded on March 31 in Yuyao, a county-level city in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province, according to the organizers.

The transaction value was 20 percent more than the previous edition in 2020. The event was put on hold in 2021 and 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The four-day expo, which occupied 42,000 square meters, attracted 374 exhibitors from home and abroad as well as 33,700 visitors. Of the 374 exhibitors, 26 launched new products at the expo.

In addition, 12 high-end investment projects with a combined value of 5.18 billion yuan were agreed upon on the sidelines of the event. These projects are related to fields such as intelligent home appliances, new materials, new energy vehicle parts, energy conservation and environmental protection.

Since its inception in 1999, the event has grown into an influential expo for China's plastics sector. The expo was certified by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) in 2016.

According to local authorities, the 24th China Plastics Expo will be held from Nov 6 to 11.
