Fu Chunye, an artisan in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, recently made a set of fabric artworks to celebrate the upcoming 19th Asian Games.
"I spent nearly a month making them. The whole set required more than 10,000 stitches," said Fu.
The set of artworks include a blue patchwork measuring 50 centimeters long and 30 centimeters wide and three cloth coasters.
Fu used various weaving and embroidery techniques to create them, such as tie-die, applique, and piping. Elements of the Asian Games and Ningbo - the official emblem, gull patterns, and Chinese characters "Xi Ying Ya Yun" (Celebrating the Asian Games) - were embroidered into the fabric.
According to Fu, she was inspired by the blue sky and sea and attempted to express the happiness of the residents of Ningbo, a coastal city that will co-host the games.
