Ningbo govt delegation visits Romania

Peng Jiaxue, Party chief of Ningbo, led a government delegation on a fruitful visit to Romania from Nov 13 to 15.

The visit commenced with a visit to the Chinese Embassy in Romania on Nov 13. Afterwards, the delegation participated in a symposium held in Bucharest, which aimed to promote economic and trade links between Ningbo and Romania.

During his speech at the symposium, Peng Jiaxue emphasized the objective of strengthening ties with various sectors in Romania, expressing confidence that this visit would bring new momentum to the high-quality construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.

He stated that Ningbo aspires to establish closer connections with Romania in areas such as culture, tourism, technological innovation, and education. By doing so, both sides can achieve mutually beneficial and win-win outcomes within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.

During the conference, Ningbo companies signed 11 agreements with Romanian companies and institutions. These agreements covered a wide range of areas, including imports of agricultural and food products, manufacturing investments, collaboration in wind and solar energy, and the development of supply chain networks. Additionally, 21 Ningbo companies engaged in on-site exchanges with 120 Romanian counterparts, further enhancing cooperation.

On Nov 14, Peng visited Cluj-Napoca, where he signed a friendly city relationship agreement with Emil Boc, former prime minister of Romania and mayor of Cluj-Napoca.

Concluding the visit on Nov 15, the delegation traveled to Brasov to inspect investments made by Ningbo companies like Joyson and Huaxiang.
