The 10th Ningbo International University Student Festival kicked off at the Zhejiang Business Technology Institute in Ningbo, Zhejiang province on Nov 20 and will last for five days.

This year's festival is themed on "inheritance", aiming to create friendships among international students and promote traditional Chinese culture. During the event, students will embark on journeys in three themes: traditional Chinese medicine culture, ports and traditional opera art. 

At the opening ceremony, international students were wowed by performances and activities featuring traditional Chinese culture, such as bianlian (face-changing), sugar painting, clay figurines, straw plaiting, hanfu, and tea art.

Sadikov from Uzbekistan received a work of rainbow calligraphy, an ancient Chinese art that forms words using colorful Chinese fortune pictures.

"The characters are as beautiful as a painting," said Sadikov.

"Here, I can experience different types of traditional Chinese cultural activities and receive many delicate handicrafts," said Arianna, an Italian student who tried several activities at the festival.
