Fenghua villages to recruit village CEOs
Fenghua district in Ningbo, Zhejiang province launched a recruitment campaign for village CEOs on Nov 28 to promote rural vitalization.
A village CEO recruitment conference was held at Jin'e village in Fenghua on Nov 28, during which the district launched a pilot project of rural operation in 12 villages and called for the participation of global rural operation managers and teams.
Village CEO was recognized as a new profession by China's Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security in 2019. It refers to those who offer rural management services, including production organization, equipment operation, technical support, and product processing and sales at in agricultural organizations such as farm cooperatives.
At the conference, three villages – Xiejishan, Miaohouzhou, and Xixiakeng villages – signed cooperation agreements with rural operation teams.
According to an official of Fenghua district, the recruitment conference was meant to attract young people who are passionate about rural vitalization and skilled at planning and marketing events.
"The development of villages requires an influx of 'fresh blood.' We should introduce new ideas and new mechanisms in rural areas, helping farmers tap into broader market, which will ultimately drive the vitalization of entire villages," said Fan Yazhu, deputy director of the Fenghua District Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
