The Ningbo Lishe International Airport recently welcomed two Hungarian passengers boarding a flight bound for Budapest, Hungary. They are the first group of passengers to enjoy the convenience of visa-free travel since the policy's implementation.
On March 14, China adopted a visa-free policy for Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium and Luxembourg on a trial basis, following the mutual visa exemption agreement between China and Thailand that took effect on March 1.
József Tóth and his wife recently traveled from Vietnam to catch a flight back to Hungary from the Ningbo airport. The visa-free policy made their boarding procedures much smoother.
"China's visa-free policy has made travel much easier. Throughout our trip to China, we have constantly felt the county's openness and inclusiveness," said József.
Since the launch of the Ningbo-Budapest intercontinental route at the Ningbo airport, a total of 1,240 outbound foreign passengers and 1,426 inbound foreign passengers have utilized the route.
To make customs clearance more efficient and support foreign nationals visiting China for various purposes, the Ningbo airport has optimized its allocation of manpower and assigned multilingual inspectors to provide timely explanations of the visa-free policy to passengers from the six countries.
