In Ningbo's Huaxing Community, a shared book house, renovated from two residential properties by a generous local resident three years ago, offers a cozy retreat and literary sanctuary for neighbors to read and connect with each other.

"He also donated over 2,000 books, many of which are brand new," said Wang Fei, the Party secretary of the community, adding that the low-key resident, who is passionate about public welfare and art, is affectionately called "Village Head" by neighbors.

The book house consists of two floors, featuring designated areas for children's books, general books, art books, a tea bar, and a communal discussion area. All books are categorized and labeled with numbers and genres, ensuring easy navigation through the diverse collection. An electronic query system is also available.

Zhou Zhejun, a regular visitor at the book house, also helps manage the daily operation of the facility on a volunteer basis.

"These types of practices have evolved within our community. With a shared love for reading, we want to contribute something to the book house. The electronic system streamlines our operations, making borrowing and tracking books a breeze," Zhou said.

The "Village Head" also converted a nearby house into an activity venue, equipped with a shared kitchen, lounge area, and tea-tasting area, where regular public activities, such as lectures and art salons, are held.
