With the attendance of 200 guests from around the world, a new way of sharing China's stories emerged in Ningbo, Zhejiang province on May 8 – introducing the Ningbo International Communication Center (NICC).

Highlighting Ningbo's aspiration to serve as a beacon of common prosperity and exemplify Chinese modernization, an official from the Publicity Department of the CPC Ningbo Municipal Committee emphasized the pivotal role of international communication in this endeavor.

NICC plans to integrate resources, platforms, and channels, fostering a market-oriented, specialized, and digitally savvy environment. Its mission includes bolstering international communication capabilities, nurturing cross-border exchanges, and catalyzing the convergence of industrial and innovative chains.

The center plans to launch over 150 cultural exchange activities spanning performances, literature, exhibitions, and archival showcases across the city. In response to the aspirations of “Generation Z”, NICC has initiated a youth-themed program, offering a myriad of projects to engage young people from over 30 countries and regions. It also introduced 20 city image enhancement projects to showcase Ningbo's unique charm and development achievements through a variety of events.

Professor Jon Garibaldi, Provost of the University of Nottingham Ningbo China, hailed the initiative as a gateway to a promising future, underscoring the potential for deeper collaboration between China and the UK.
