Moments We Shared tells the story of Liu Shisan, a young man hailing from Yunbian town, and his grandmother Wang Yingying, who manages a small store. After enduring various trials in the bustling city, Liu returns to his roots, where a series of heartwarming and inspiring tales unfold.

The film's art department spent nearly a year finding the perfect setting for the small store depicted in the story. Ultimately, the production team discovered the ideal backdrop in Dayan town.

Impressed by the mesmerizing beauty of Dayan, Zhang expressed his delight, stating, "It perfectly embodies the image I had in my mind — pristine mountains, flowing waters, quaint houses. Every step I take here evokes a sense of nostalgia, transporting me back to my childhood, back to my hometown."
