Manon, a 28-year-old Frenchwoman with a love for Chinese culture, stumbled upon Ningbo during her internship at a French firm's local branch in 2019. Her journey has since woven a tale of serendipity and belonging in this picturesque Chinese city.

"Ningbo captivates me with its tranquility and beauty," said Manon.

During her internship, she embraced the city's historical charm, wandering through the ancient alleys of Tianyi Pavilion and Moon Lake, where every stone seemed to whisper stories of the past.

Back in France, her heart remained in Ningbo. Upon graduation, she seized the opportunity to rejoin the French company, this time as a full-fledged employee. When given the choice among three Chinese branches, Manon's heart led her back to Ningbo – a city that not only aligns with her professional aspirations as a freight forwarder, but also feels like a second home.

"Ningbo has a special place in my heart," she said. "Its moderate pace and just-right size make it the perfect blend of city life and tranquility. And the warm greetings from locals in my neighborhood make me feel truly welcome."

In her free time, Manon is active in Ningbo's vibrant social scene, dining with friends from both France and China at Tianyi Square and Drum Tower, where they share laughter and delicious local cuisine.

"The convenience of modern life here – online shopping, food delivery – is just amazing," Manon said.

Her enthusiasm for China has been an inspiration to her brother, who has embarked on his own Chinese adventures and plans to visit Ningbo.
