Ningbo hosts new year lantern fest

The 2025 Ningbo Lantern Festival kicked off at the Ningbo Botanical Garden on the evening of Dec 28, 2024. This extraordinary journey of intangible cultural heritage and folk customs from day to night has begun. The event spans New Year's Day, Spring Festival, and Lantern Festival, and continues until Feb 16.

During the event, the daytime festivities will feature vibrant market fairs and temple fairs filled with a lively local atmosphere. As night falls, the event will present nearly 20 performances on intangible cultural heritages, including face-changing and fire-spitting acts, along with dazzling lantern displays.
