Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province achieved robust economic growth in 2024, reaching 1.81 trillion yuan ($248 billion) in gross domestic product (GDP), up 5.4 percent year-on-year.
In 2024, the city's general public budget revenue grew by 0.3 percent, reaching 179.05 billion yuan. The per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents reached 83,110 yuan and 51,203 yuan, respectively.
Moreover, the added value of above-designated-size industrial companies — those with an annual revenue of 20 million yuan or above — in Ningbo grew by 7.7 percent.
In 2024, Ningbo-Zhoushan Port achieved an impressive cargo throughput of 1.37 billion metric tons, a 4-percent increase from the previous year, which secured its position as the world's leader in cargo throughput for the 16th consecutive year.
