Ningbo swimmer Yu Yiting secures 7 medals at 2025 National Spring Swimming Championships

The 2025 National Spring Swimming Championships finished on March 23 in Qingdao, Shandong province, with Ningbo's Yu Yiting emerging as a championess. Competing in a remarkable 11 events, Yu demonstrated her versatility and endurance with two golds, three silvers, and two bronzes.
Yu is a rising star in Chinese swimming and used the competition to gauge her winter training progress and prepare for the National Games. On March 18, she set a personal best of 54.04 seconds in the women's 100-meter freestyle final, earning a silver medal, and followed with another silver in the women's 200-meter individual medley.
On March 19, Yu secured gold in the 50-meter butterfly, a non-specialty event, with an impressive 25.73 seconds. The next day, she dominated the women's 400-meter individual medley with a time of 4 minutes and 36.63 seconds, marking a strong comeback from her post-Olympics struggles.
Despite a challenging schedule, Yu claimed bronze in the women's 100-meter backstroke and competed in the women's 400-meter freestyle on March 22. The next day, she added a silver in the women's 100-meter butterfly and a bronze in the women's 200-meter freestyle.
Looking back on her performance, Yu emphasized her strategy to challenge herself in unfamiliar events, proving her resilience and determination. Her success at the championships is a promising step toward the National Games.
