The 2025 Qingming Festival holiday, which fell on April 4 to 6, offered a significant boost to Ningbo's tourism and cultural activities. Over three days, the city received an impressive 3.66 million visitors, generating 4.21 billion yuan ($575 million) in tourism revenue.

Among the visitors, 78 percent were from within Zhejiang province, while the remaining 22 percent hailed from regions like Shanghai, Guangdong, and Jiangsu.

Popular destinations included Xikou-Tengtou Scenic Spot, Cicheng Ancient City, Yuehu Lake Scenic Area, Dongqian Lake Tourist Resort, and Ningbo Songlan Mountain Tourist Resort, each attracting over 100,000 visitors. Xikou-Tengtou alone hosted over 150,000 tourists.

Ningbo's attractions offered an array of events, with Xuedou Mountain holding a Xuedou Temple Fair blending northern and southern folk traditions.

Throughout the city, immersive experiences brought local culture to life. Visitors crafted Qingming rice balls in Cicheng, explored mugwort's medicinal uses at Mingzhou Tianyu Ecological Agricultural Park, and enjoyed historical reenactments at Shipu Fishing Port.

Hospitality revenue rose by 20 percent compared to the previous year, with accommodations fully booked near key spots. Hotels and campsites introduced picking activities, Hanfu experiences, and more to attract younger tourists.

Ningbo's museums and libraries also excelled, hosting Qingming-themed workshops, exhibitions, and lectures to enrich the festival atmosphere and showcase the city's cultural vitality.
