Ningbo theater festival begins with 'Notre-Dame de Paris'

The 2025 Ningbo Premium Theater Season began April 23 at the Ningbo Cultural Plaza Grand Theater. The opening ceremony featured a special meet-and-greet with the cast of the French musical Notre-Dame de Paris, marking a spectacular start to months of theatrical delight.

Running from late April to September, the festival boasts over 50 top-tier productions and more than 100 performances. Audiences can look forward to international and domestic highlights such as Notre-Dame de Paris and Romeo and Juliet.

As the festival's opening night, Notre-Dame de Paris has been celebrated worldwide since its Paris premiere in 1998. Its unique format, features 55 captivating songs, dynamic choreography, and a blend of opera and rock. The musical powerfully conveys Victor Hugo's timeless themes of beauty, morality, and humanity.

During the opening night, six lead actors spoke directly with the audience, sharing insights into their iconic roles and performing cherished songs from the production.

From April 24 to 27, the cast will present five performances in Ningbo for an unforgettable experience of this internationally renowned masterpiece.
