Ningbo Wenzhou International Trade Co Ltd, a growing leader in sporting goods, recently secured a 470-container order worth 24 million yuan ($3.29 million) after an intensive 17-day overseas tour.

Wang Wenbin, general manager of the company, and his sales team visited 16 cities, including Tokyo and Munich, to strengthen ties with existing clients and attract new business.

Faced with challenges like fluctuating orders and delayed construction on overseas factories, the company adopted a proactive approach. Wang emphasized the importance of perseverance and creativity in market expansion. Recalling an instance where he initially faced rejection from a potential client, his persistence and thoughtfulness — such as offering the client a cigar that catered to the client's personal interest — resulted in a significant deal worth $20 million.

Transitioning from a trading company to a manufacturing enterprise, Wenzhou International Trade has invested heavily in innovation. With modernized production facilities and over 100 new products launched annually in sports like basketball, volleyball, and rugby, the company combines efficiency with creativity.

The 470-container order is presently in production, with deliveries starting May 20.

Looking ahead, Wang plans to unveil new products at the Canton Fair and expand into countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative. Strengthening domestic and international sales integration, Wenzhou International Trade aims to accelerate its growth.
