Ningbo opens trade exhibition in Tokyo
The Tokyo edition of Ningbo's "Ningbo Global Gateway" overseas trade series is showcasing the city's export strengths and global ambition from July 2 to 4.
Focused on industries such as gifts and home goods, health products, and stationery, the event brings together leading Ningbo enterprises and hundreds of Japanese buyers, fostering targeted trade connections.
The exhibition integrates high-quality Japanese procurement channels and cross-border e-commerce platforms. The Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Japan will provide insights into Japan's e-commerce trends and opportunities to do business in the country, giving Ningbo companies vital market information.
Ningbo companies are demonstrating strong momentum in their "going global" strategies, presenting innovative products aimed at expanding retail and online sales channels in Japan. Supporting services such as processing certification of origins and commercial documentation are available on-site, alongside one-on-one business meetings and policy briefings to deepen China-Japan cooperation.
Japan is already Ningbo's third-largest trading partner, with exports to the country reaching 3.9 billion yuan ($544 million) in 2024. As policies like RCEP deepen and the China-Japan-South Korea Free Trade Zone progresses, "Made in Ningbo" is gaining stronger recognition among Japanese consumers.
The "Ningbo Global Gateway" overseas exhibition series is a key initiative aimed at boosting the city's high-quality foreign trade development. This special event in Japan marks the first stop in the series, which will also include stops in major markets such as Europe, the United States, and Southeast Asia.
