Zhejiang launches campaign to boost spending

Zhejiang province has launched its summer consumer promotion campaign, aiming to stimulate economic activity across the region.

The campaign will focus on key sectors such as cultural tourism, sports events, and the night economy, with seven major initiatives to drive consumer spending during July and August. Over 2,000 consumer promotion events are planned throughout the province.

According to Huang Xuemei, an official with the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province, the campaign will cover the entire consumer experience, including dining, accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, shopping, and entertainment.

The campaign will also highlight Zhejiang's local brands, enhancing the summer consumption experience with activities like night markets and night tours. It aims to precisely match consumer demands by targeting specific groups, times, and locations.

New offerings will include family-oriented packages, teacher-student deals, and extended hours at popular venues, all designed to provide consumers with a higher quality of service.

A series of provincial-level night economy initiatives will also be launched, featuring a diverse range of nighttime activities such as dining, shopping, and tourism.

Huang added that the province will release 10 night economy case studies to increase the appeal and overall vitality of nighttime consumption. Additionally, venues, buses, and subways will extend their service hours.
