Frank Sterzer, a German entrepreneur, has become a leading example of Ningbo's support for foreign-run small businesses by receiving the city's first food workshop registration certificate issued to a foreign individual.

Sterzer was captivated by Maoli village in Jiangbei district, his wife's hometown, drawn by its scenic environment and strong rural infrastructure. In 2024, he opened Bamboo Coffee, which quickly became a popular local spot and a gateway for visitors to experience the village's unique charm.

Facing challenges navigating local regulations, Sterzer sought assistance from Jiangbei's "Catering Butler" platform. The market supervision bureau responded swiftly, providing tailored guidance on workshop layout, quality control, product labeling, and approval procedures for foreign-invested small workshops.

Now, the cafe is fully equipped with roasting and sorting machines, offering high-quality coffee beans sourced from around the world. Officials emphasized their ongoing commitment to providing precise, door-to-door support aimed at improving the business environment and encouraging more domestic and international entrepreneurs to thrive in Jiangbei.
