In Tangxi town, Ningbo, a whimsical world of straw-built animals is drawing crowds by the thousands.
Since officially opening on July 25, the "Scarecrow Kingdom" at Jinwang Family Farm in Dabipu village has quickly become a family favorite, blending rural charm with creative flair.
Towering 3-meter-tall straw gorillas, fairy-tale-like giraffes, leaping dolphins, and plump groundhogs make up a lively animal-themed wonderland. Though crafted entirely from straw, the lifelike textures and playful designs give each figure personality and presence, sparking the imagination of visitors young and old.
Beyond the visual spectacle, the farm offers a diverse mix of experiences. Inside high-tech greenhouses equipped with automated irrigation systems, rows of plump, sun-ripened tomatoes thrive. A petting zoo and hands-on agricultural learning zone give children a chance to connect with nature up close, while a nearby campsite — dotted with white tents on soft green lawns — invites families to unwind under the stars.
Since its trial opening in June, the site has seen daily visitor numbers exceeding 1,000.
