Ningbo, Almaty deepen their economic, cultural links

In the Central Asian nation of Kazakhstan, the Home Tech & Electra 2025 China (Ningbo) International Consumer Goods Fair-Kazakhstan recently concluded in Almaty.

The event represented the first locally led exhibition in Kazakhstan since the second China-Central Asia Summit.

Held at the Almaty International Exhibition Center, it showcased the strengths of Ningbo in consumer goods and home appliances, fostering stronger ties between Ningbo and Almaty.

Among the highlights was a cultural exchange symbolized by a special Twin Cities Seal interactive display, featuring Chinese pandas and Kazakh tulips — emblems of friendship bridging the two cities.

The installation attracted many visitors and business delegates, sparking conversations about shared heritage and future cooperation.

Member of Kazakhstan's Majilis or lower house, Maksim Rozhin, showed particular enthusiasm — personally engaging with the exhibition and leaving a heartfelt letter to the Ningbo organizers.

He called for a brotherhood between Almaty and Ningbo, along with business relations that would reach new heights. He also praised the hardworking spirit and remarkable progress of the Chinese people, emphasizing the importance of deepening bilateral cooperation.

Buyers like Ruslanbek, who traveled over 1,000 kilometers to attend, placed significant orders — reaffirming Ningbo's reputation for delivering quality products suited to Central Asian markets.

Outside the exhibition halls, cultural ties thrived. A toy factory near Almaty, founded by Chinese entrepreneur Ma Qianli, operates fully in the Kazakh language and focuses on children's growth through play.

Artifacts from the fair, including Twin Cities Seal stamps and artwork combining elements from Ningbo's Tianyi Pavilion and Almaty's natural landscapes, now decorate the factory — symbolizing ongoing cultural exchanges.
