Autumn deepens in hue

chinadaily.com.cn| Updated:  October 8, 2025 L M S

When Cold Dew descends, autumn deepens in hue. Chill dew thickens and frost greets the view. Plants turn gold, crabs grace the feast. With a cup of warm tea in hand, that's where life’s rhythms meet.

Tang Dynasty (618-907) poet Bai Juyi wrote in By the Pond: "Cool winds rise and curl, with gentle motion; Cold Dew falls, a chill that stirs emotion. Orchids fade, their petals turn to white; Lotus blooms break, yet leaves stay green and bright." As cold dew falls, keep warmly clad. Let us greet deep autumn, eased and glad.
