China has extended its visa-free entry policy for certain countries until the end of 2026, allowing short-term visits for business, tourism, family visits, exchanges, and transits. Travelers at Ningbo Lishe International Airport have expressed strong support for the move.

During interviews with Ningbo Daily, inbound visitors highlighted the convenience of the extension. Business travelers noted that previous visa applications involved multiple steps and took several days, whereas the new policy allows them to plan trips more spontaneously. Short-term tourists observed that longer visa-free stays offer opportunities to visit multiple cities during layovers.

Airport officials reported that the policy has already boosted foreign arrivals. In 2025, Ningbo airport processed around 974,000 travelers, including about 33,000 inbound foreigners, of whom nearly 58 percent entered visa-free. Short-term business and tourism trips accounted for a large portion of these entries.

To further facilitate arrivals, authorities announced that from Nov 20, foreign visitors can submit entry information online, while paper forms remain available for those unable to use digital channels.
