Ningbo's Belun district is bringing global coffee resources to the countryside, local media outlets reported.
On Nov 26, the district hosted a "Coffee with the World" event, linking popular rural cafes with overseas Chinese business networks to explore new consumption models and strengthen rural vitalization.
At the event, rural cafe owners met with overseas coffee traders, learning about supply-chain solutions, emerging consumer trends, and cross-border logistics that can deliver beans from origin to Ningbo in just 22 days.
New ideas such as the integration of coffee and agritourism as well as cooperation on cafes and rural homestays sparked lively discussion. Several rural cafes also reached preliminary cooperation agreements with overseas coffee importers to bring high-quality beans directly to villages at better prices.
Participants then visited local village cafes to explore business models and collaborative opportunities.
The event is part of Belun's broader efforts to integrate overseas Chinese resources into local development, supported by platforms such as the overseas Chinese hubs of free trade zones and the Cross-Border E-commerce Alliance.
With the village cafe sector becoming a driver of the local economy, Belun aims to keep expanding global collaboration — brewing new momentum for common prosperity.
