A new international initiative aimed at cultivating highly skilled talent in artificial intelligence, robotics, and intelligent manufacturing was launched on June 9 at Ningbo Polytechnic University.
The event marked the establishment of the Salamanca Smart Engineering Joint College and the launch of several cooperation platforms, including the LimX Dynamics Industrial College, the Sino-Spanish Joint Language and Cultural Center, and the Intelligent Engineering Learning and Innovation Hub.
The partnership brings together the University of Salamanca in Spain, Chinese embodied intelligence and humanoid robotics company LimX Dynamics, and Ningbo Polytechnic University.
By combining academic resources, industrial expertise, and international cooperation, the three parties aim to advance the coordinated development of education, talent cultivation, industry, and innovation.
The joint college will offer programs in AI applications, intelligent chemical manufacturing, and industrial robotics, all of which are closely aligned with emerging industry demands. The LimX Dynamics Industrial College will integrate cutting-edge humanoid robot technologies and real-world industrial projects into teaching and training, enabling students to gain hands-on experience with advanced equipment and practical application scenarios.
Juan Manuel Corchado, rector of the University of Salamanca, described Ningbo as a globally recognized center for industry and innovation. He said the new programs are designed to equip students with both solid theoretical knowledge and strong innovation capabilities.
The partners also plan to share research resources and strengthen collaboration in robotics, advanced manufacturing, and artificial intelligence to address global industrial challenges and nurture internationally competitive technical talent.
