Ningbo port recorded strong foreign trade growth in the first seven months of 2026, with total imports and exports reaching 1.67 trillion yuan ($247.78 billion), up 7.7 percent year-on-year, according to Ningbo Customs.
Exports rose 8.3 percent to 1.28 trillion yuan, while imports increased 6.1 percent to 395.88 billion yuan. In July alone, trade totaled 254.91 billion yuan, surging 11.9 percent year-on-year and highlighting the port's resilience amid a complex global trade environment.
Private enterprises remained a major growth driver. From January to July, they accounted for 77.5 percent of the port's total trade, with imports and exports growing 9 percent to 1.3 trillion yuan.
Ningbo also continued to diversify its global markets. Trade with the European Union and ASEAN grew 9.2 percent and 14.4 percent, respectively, while trade with the United States increased 5.2 percent. Trade with Belt and Road partner countries reached 873.94 billion yuan, up 7 percent.
The port also saw robust exports of high-tech and green products. Exports of mechanical and electrical products rose 9.5 percent, while exports of electric vehicles, lithium-ion batteries, and photovoltaic products surged 26.9 percent to 71.99 billion yuan.
Meanwhile, growing imports of crude oil, metal ores, and agricultural products helped support domestic industrial production and meet consumer demand.
