China's tax revenue saw a steady uptick in July, rising 5 percent year-on-year to reach about 1.8 trillion yuan ($250.9 billion), marking a continued rebound after recovering from a decline in April, data from the Ministry of Finance showed on Aug 19.

For the January-July period, total tax revenue amounted to about 11.1 trillion yuan, down 0.3 percent year-on-year. The decline represents a narrowing from the 1.2 percent drop recorded in the first half of the year, the ministry said.

China's general public budget spending for the first seven months stood at about 16.1 trillion yuan, representing a 3.4 percent increase compared to the same period last year, the ministry added.
