The 2026 Yangtze River Delta International Youth Film Festival will open in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, on Oct 17 and run through Oct 23, bringing together young filmmakers and industry professionals to explore new opportunities for international film cooperation.

As a key event of the festival, the China-Africa Young Filmmakers Roundtable series will run from Oct 17 to 20. The event aims to strengthen cultural exchanges, promote mutual learning between civilizations, and connect China's film industry with African markets.

More than 100 young filmmakers, scholars, and representatives of film and television institutions from China and across Africa are expected to attend. Discussions will focus on the current landscape and prospects of China-Africa film cooperation, with particular attention to talent development, market potential, and youth-led collaboration.

Participants will also visit film and television institutions, watch films, and take part in cultural exchange activities to gain firsthand insights into China's film industry and its latest technological developments.

Coinciding with the 70th anniversary of China-Africa diplomatic relations and the 2026 China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges, the event offers a platform for young creatives to build connections and explore new possibilities for cross-cultural storytelling.
