The 2026 Global Mayors Dialogue · Ningbo held its main event in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, on the afternoon of Nov 3, bringing together leaders of Chinese and international cities to explore opportunities for cooperation.
Mayors from Ningbo, Auckland in New Zealand, Suez Governorate in Egypt, Laamu Atoll in the Maldives, Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray in France, and Errachidia in Morocco exchanged views on their cities' strengths, international cooperation, development, and people-to-people exchanges.
Agreements for a total of 14 cooperation projects were signed at the event, covering friendly exchanges, trade and economic cooperation, science and technology, education, culture, and tourism.
Two new partnerships aimed at promoting friendly exchanges were also established: one between Ningbo's Yinzhou district and Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray, and the other between Yuyao, a county-level city administered by Ningbo, and Errachidia.
The Ningbo Consensus on Cooperative Development was also released during the event, calling for greater connectivity, industrial collaboration, resource sharing, and closer cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
Held from Nov 2 to 5, the dialogue has attracted more than 260 participants, including representatives from 20 cities across 15 countries and international organizations, businesses, and media outlets.
